Balaton Sailing Group
Accessibility
Last reviewed: 1 November 2026
We want anyone to be able to read this site and find out about the group, whatever device they use or however they read the web. This page says what we have done, where we know the site falls short, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.
What we have done
- Text is real text, so it can be enlarged or read aloud by your own software, and the layout reflows on a phone rather than shrinking to fit.
- The site works with a keyboard: there is a “skip to content” link, and the language switch, menu and sign-up box can all be reached and used without a mouse.
- Photographs carry a written description in the code, so a screen reader announces what the picture shows rather than reading a file name.
- Videos never play on their own. Nothing loads from YouTube until you choose to press play, and nothing is stored on your device before then.
- Colour and contrast were checked against the body text and the buttons, and the design does not rely on colour alone to carry meaning.
- The site works in English and Spanish, and remembers which one you chose.
Where we know it is not perfect
- The videos are filmed by members on phones and tablets. They do not have subtitles or a transcript yet. If you need either, tell us which video and we will add one.
- Some photographs are old and small. Where a picture is too low in quality to describe usefully, the description is simple rather than detailed.
- This is a small group’s site, not a large organisation’s. We fix what we can, and we would rather hear about a problem than have you struggle quietly.
Tell us about a problem
Email [email protected] and say which page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what happened — or what your software said. We aim to reply within ten working days, and to fix what we can.
